Berthold Birkelbach, CEO
Berthold Birkelbach joined SCHNABEL AG in 2005 and became its majority shareholder and CEO in May 2006. After completing his training as a telecommunications technician and earning a degree in public administration, he joined the property management department of Deutsche Telekom AG, taking on his first management roles with DeTeImmobilien. He was on the advisory board of 4Competence at its launch in 2003 before becoming a partner and COO in 2004. |

Frank Urban, COO, Head of our Hanover Office
After completing his studies in both, Mechanical and Plant Engineering and Automation Technology, Frank Urban joined Johnson Controls as Project Manager. In 1998 he switched to SCHNABEL’s Hanover branch, becoming its Branch Manager. In April 2007, in addition to his duties at SCHNABEL AG, he was also appointed to Managing Director of the Karnasch firm of Planning Consultants, a subsidiary of SCHNABEL AG. In 2009 he was nominated as Head of Engineering at SCHNABEL AG. Furthermore he’s been appointed to the Board of Directors at the SCHNABEL AG by January 1st, 2010.

Thomas Bachmann, Chief Financial Officer
Before Thomas Bachmann, who graduated from business school (Dipl.-Kfm.) with focus on Business Management, Personnel and Finance became Head of Human Resources, Organisation and IT at SCHNABEL AG, he started his career as Personnel Officer at Raab Karcher GmbH. In 2001 he overtook the management of Human Resources at an international middle-sized engineering company. Since June 2009 he is also in charge of the foreign business activities in India and Middle East, being Executive Director at the SCHNABEL academy. In July 2009 he furthermore became Director and Chairman of the Board at SCHNABEL Data Center Consultants India Prv. Ltd. Since January 2010, Thomas Bachmann is also member of the Executive Board at SCHNABEL AG.

Jürgen Schlichting, Supervisory Board Chairman
Jürgen Schlichting has been on the SCHNABEL’s Supervisory Board since August 2002. Since mid 2004 he has also been masterminding the market entry of SCHNABEL AG in the Arabian Gulf states and India. He is a Managing Shareholder of Corporate Consultants ebc International GmbH specializing in market positioning, strategic alignment and opening up foreign markets. He’s been working for Swiss and German consulting firms at home and overseas for years.

Sven Krause, confidential clerk, Head of our Frankfurt office
Sven Krause studied energy- and heating engineering with focus on air conditioning technology and technical environment protection. Before he joined SCHNABEL AG in 2005, he worked as Project Engineer at Brendel Ingenieure GmbH within the areas heating, air-conditioning and climate and Project Manager in the fields of datacenter air conditioning and general technical building systems at Stulz GmbH. Sven Krause already supported SCHNABEL AG as Project Manager, being in charge of the business unit collocations, before he became Head of our Frankfurt office.

Uwe Kreß, Head of our Frankfurt Office
Uwe Kreß left University with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering. After graduating, his first jobs focussed on the holistic layout planning of factories, as well as the new development of production facilities and the clearance of administration buildings for several planning firms. Before Joining SCHNABEL, Uwe Kreß switched to ARCOR, which now belongs to Vodafone. Working there as Building Services Engineer, he was in charge of demand-oriented, economic utilization of investments in infrastructural facilities as well as the quality assurance of AC/DC power supplies. In addition he was responsible for technical product-testings and their clearings. Since April 2009 he’s managing our branch office Frankfurt in collaboration with Sven Krause.

Christoph Wegner, confidential clerk, Head of our Munich Office
Christoph Wegner is a graduate electrical engineer who has specialised in the field of computer engineering. After completing a trainee program, he worked as Project Manager on major building services projects for ABB Gebäudetechnik AG. He joined SCHNABEL AG in May 2006 and his responsibilities are in the field of electrical engineering. His core competencies include project management, consultancy and data center design. Christoph Wegner is managing our office in Munich together with Stevo Bilbija.

Stevo Bilbija, Head of our Munich Office
Before Stevo Bilbija became Head of our Munich office in 2009, the Dipl.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering worked for IB Schlaegel & Jensch, IB OSD as well as Director Facilities & Operations and Business Development Manager at Telehouse. There he was also managing the operations of the IT and Building Services of three large Data Centers (2,000 m² each). Afterwards, Stevo Bilbija worked as self employed Engineer, supervising Projects in Data Center Design and construction and complex Building Services (e.g. site management for Siemens/BWI, Project Management Grand Media Center Sarajevo with an estimated turnover of 40 Mio. Euros)

Martin Niewiera, Head of our Essen office
Martin Niewiera studied building services engineering (Dipl-Ing./Dipl.-Wirt. Ing.). He worked as Project Manager, Branch Manager and Registered Manager for well-known planning agencies of technical building systems for eleven years. Since February 2008 he is second CEO at Planungsgesellschaft PKA Karnasch and overtook the Head of our Essen office additionally in April 2008.

Carsten Zahn, Confidential Clerk, Head of our Berlin office
After graduating from university as Mechanical Engineer, Carsten Zahn professionally focussed on cooling, air-conditioning and ventilation technology. Being Head of our Berlin office and Project Manager since 2006, he is in charge of all the customers’ ventures, from the first consultancy to the ready-to-use handover, keeping an eye on technical and scheduling issues.

Ernst Monteiro, Technical Manager, Branch Office Dubai
After graduating in Electronics, Ernst Monteiro worked as Project Manager at MCI WorldCom for several years. Later on, Ernst took over leadership responsibility at MCI for his own team in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Having worked as a Service Manager at a simulator company for 5 years, he decided to move to the Middle East, where he joined SCHNABEL AG in 2007. Being first employed as a Project Manager, Ernst has become the Technical Manager at SCHNABEL AG Dubai.
